To make the crochet pineapple pattern, you need to make a lot of puff stitches in the middle and shell stitches on the sides of it. This pattern isn’t really complicated, especially if you are familiar with the double crochet. Materials:
1.50 mm Crochet Hook
Crochet Cotton Thread size 30 in yellow.
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sl-st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
st – Stitch
Special stitches:
shell stitch: Dc 4, Cn 2, Dc 4
puff stitch: Ch 4, Dc 3 in the next stitch, Ch 4, Sl-st 1 in the next stitch
Pattern:
Round 1: Ch 9.
Round 2: Dc 5.
Round 3: 1 row of sl-st.
Round 4: Repeat Round 2, Round 3 and again Round 2.
Round 5: In the first stitch, Cn 4, shell stitch. Then Cn 6 and the shell stitch in the last stitch.
Round 6: In the first Dc 4 of the shell stitch below, make sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and Dc 1 in the end of the shell stitch below. * Cn 2 and Dc 1 ** , repeat 4 times from * to **. Cn 3 and again the shell stitch.
Round 7: Cn 1, sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and Dc 1 in the end of the shell stitch below. In all the 4 Dc1 stitches of Round 6, * Dc 3 and Cn 1 ** , repeat 4 times from * to ** ( one time for each Dc1 stitch ). Cn 3 and the shell stitch.
Round 8: Cn 1, sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and Dc 1 in the end of the shell stitch below. * Ch 1, Dc 1 in each stitch around **, repeat 20 from * to **. Cn 3 and the shell stitch.
Round 9: Cn 1, sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in the middle of the first stitch. * Ch 2, sl-st 1 in each stitch around **, repeat 21 from * to **. Cn 3 and the shell stitch.
Round 10: Cn 1, sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in the middle of the first stitch. * Ch 2, sl-st 1 in each stitch around **, repeat 19 from * to **. Cn 3 and the shell stitch. Note: in this row you should put through in the middle of the small arches formed in the Round 9.
Round 11: Cn 1, sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in the middle of the first stitch. Make 10 puff stitches as explained in the special stitches. Cn 3 and the shell stitch.
Round 12: Cn 1, sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in the Ch4 of the first puff stitch of Round 11. * Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in at the end of the Dc3 of the current puff stitch. Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in the Ch4 of the next puff stitch. **, repeat 9 times ( 2*NumberOfPuffStitches – 1 ) from * to **. In the last puff stitch we will make only Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in at the end of the Dc3 of the current puff stitch. Then, Cn 3 and the shell stitch.
Round 13: Repeat 10 times Round 11 and Round 12. Note: The number of puff stitches will always decrease by 1, compared to the previous row of puff stitches. Same for the row of Cn 3.
Round 14: Cn 1, sl-st 4 and the shell stitch. Cn 3 and sl-st 1 in the only Ch4 remained in the last row. Cn 3 and the shell stitch. Cn 6 and sl-st to join to the first shell stitch. Turn and make sl-st 6 on each stitch of the Cn6 arch.
